The new version of RS-DEMS was released on 1 May 2012. Among other new features, you can now book a camera in and out so that DEMS knows the user and location when video is uploaded. Data Protection Act videos can be automatically deleted so that they do not breach the legislation stating how long evidence can be kept.

One of the key improvements is the automated upload function. When a camera is plugged in DEMS can automatically upload videos and decrypt encrypted SD cards. Even better, if a camera has not been checked out DEMS will automatically assign the location and user as unspecified.
